What is Library-a-Go-Go?
Library-a-Go-Go is an automated book dispensing machine. It's a self-contained collection of books that allows Contra Costa County Library card holders to borrow library books and return them when finished.
A touch screen is used to select from approximately 400 books that are delivered through an opening in the front of the unit. Books are returned through the same slot.

How to Borrow
1. Hold your library card in front of the red flashing barcode reader.
2. Press "borrow" and then "complete list" and then choose a book.
3. When prompted, again hold your library card in front of the barcode reader.
4. The book is checked out to you and dispensed from the machine. Take the book and your receipt, which shows the due date.

How to Return
1. Hold your library card in front of the red flashing barcode reader.
2. Press "return" and lay your book on the tray.
3. Press “done” and take your receipt.

3. Put your book in its case and feed it into the slot
4. Take your receipt.
How many items can I check out at a time?
Three.
When is my book due?
As at all Contra Costa County libraries, books are due in 3 weeks and you get a receipt with the due date.
What happens if I lose the book, the case or both?
If you lose the case or the book or both, visit any Contra Costa County community library and pay the charges. The charge for a lost book is $5.00 plus the replacement cost of the book. The charge for a lost case is $5.00.
You can also download and print the Library-a-Go-Go Payment Form to send a check by mail.
Can I renew my book?
Library-a-Go-Go books can be renewed online or by phone at 1-800-984-INFO (4636) - select option 1.
Can I place a hold on a Library-a-Go-Go book?
Library-a-Go-Go books cannot be placed on hold.
